Todd Mount is a West Virginia attorney handling personal injury cases and civil defense cases, insurance coverage disputes, appellate matters, business disputes, product liability defense, mass tort defense and insurance defense.
He also often serves as responsible local counsel for visiting, out-of-state attorneys involved in complex or significant litigation.
He has about 30 years of legal experience and works from both the Charleston and Madison offices of Shaffer & Shaffer.
Todd grew up in Charleston, graduated from Charleston High School, and went on to graduate from West Virginia University as well as the WVU College of Law. He lives in Charleston with his wife, Denise Workman.
His upbringing taught him that the best path to satisfaction in life is to help others. Feeling gratitude for the blessings he had while growing up, he went to law school with the goal of helping people resolve their problems.
After working as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Boone County, he joined Shaffer & Shaffer, where he could apply his experience being in court every day to a wide range of legal cases.
At Shaffer, he found mentorship from people he called “some of the best lawyers you could ever come across.” He now takes pride in mentoring younger lawyers in turn.
He says Shaffer & Shaffer is a great fit for him, because everyone there “cares about our clients and the community that is our home.”
Todd has successfully negotiated settlements in hundreds of civil cases. He has successfully tried dozens of cases in court. He has written numerous appellate briefs, and argued before the West Virginia Supreme Court several times.
“It is humbling and fulfilling to be able to help individual West Virginians, small West Virginia businesses, and larger companies that bring jobs and economic impact to our challenged state,” Todd said. “I take the responsibility to do work of the highest quality very seriously.”
You can handle legal issues and achieve your goals if the burden isn’t only on you, but on Shaffer & You.
